One Direction covered in goo? Yes please!
It's a tradition that only Nickelodeon-watching kiddie winks (and some er, adults - us) will truly understand - but we've been told there's "a chance" One Direction might get slimed live on stage when they perform at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards this afternoon in Los Angeles.
Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne are due to perform the fabulousness that is What Makes You Beautiful in front of loads of huge stars like Will Smith, Katy Perry, Victoria Beckham and the Twilight Saga cast at the ceremony - but the biggest indication of how much Nickelodeon viewers love them will be if they a) take home an award or b) get an affectionate slime bucket over them. And seeing that we're in LA watching the show with our own eyes, we kind of hope they get slimed (mainly so that we can help them clean up backstage after, ahem).
As we all know, the boys are taking the US by storm at the moment and have already notched up their first Billboard number one with debut album Up All Night. And it's obvious their American fanbase is growing by the second.
But tonight will be the boys' first big US music industry nod, especially if they managed to bag an award for their work. So it's going to be a big day for 1D!
But IF they do come off stage covered in the sticky stuff, we won't be blue, because it just means America adores Harry and co' just as much as we do! (Oh, that rhymed. We should be poets.)
Watch The Kids' Choice Awards 2012 tomorrow (Sunday) at 5.30pm on Nickelodeon and nick.co.uk/kca
